The Martin family has farmed near St. Jacobs Ontario for seven generations. Their first 100-tree orchard was planted in 1971, and the family sold apples to neighbours from the end of the laneway. Martin's has since grown into one of the province's largest apple producers, growing 25 varieties on more than 700 acres including Gala, Ambrosia and Honeycrisp. Try Honeycrisp for baking as they hold their shape and provide a tangy flavour. All varieties make perfect snacks-especially sliced and dipped in caramel or nut butter.
